LASER CUTTING & ENGRAVING

Using the latest CO2 laser cutting &engraving solutions, n-Deavor is able to realise your projects on a wide variety of materials, including but limited to:

  • Plastics:
    • Acrylic / Perspex – engraving and cutting up to 10mm thick
    • Polycarbonate (Lexan) – better for cutting up to 0.5mm thick
    • Polyester (Mylar) – better for cutting and great for stencils
    • Polypropylene – better for cutting up to 0.5mm thick
    • Delrin- engraving and cutting up to 10mm thick. Great structural material for jigs, fixings and component parts
    • Gravoply / Rowmark – these are laminated materials with the top later engraved to reveal the lower substrate. It’s then Easy to cut the required profile. Typically up to 1.5mm thickness.
    • PVC and Teflon: Sorry but it is not safe to process these materials with a laser as they contain Chlorine & Fluorine respectively.
    • Flexible Magnetic Sheets – These cut great with a laser, but get a data sheet to determine the material composition as they can contain Chlorine.
  • Wood – it is possible to engrave all woods, but can can be affected by natural grain. It is possible to up to about 12mm thick depending on material density.
    • All hard and soft woods
    • MDF
    • PLY
    • Bamboo
    • Balsa
    • Wood Laminates
  • Glass – cannot be laser cut, best engraved on the reverse
    • Mirror
  • Ceramics – Cannot be laser cut, but can be surface engraved.
  • Foams – up to 25mm thickness
    • High density foams are best
  • Fabrics – most fabrics cut well with the cut heat sealed. Heavy duty fabrics can be engraved, but there will be damage to the surface weakening the product
  • Leather – can be engraved and cuts up to about 4mm thick (smells terrible by the way)
  • Anodised Aluminium – laser engravable only, gives a sharp permanent image
  • Metals – Metals cannot be laser cut and are not actually engraved, but “marked” using a water soluble coating, that when processed with a laser, leaves a black mark on the metals surface. The coating is then washed off.
    • Stainless Steel
    • Mild Steel
    • Brass
    • Copper
    • Aluminium
